Let Your Feet Do The Talkin’
A father, his family and a little ole country dance. This 2010 documentary tells the story of 70-year-old buckdancing legend Thomas Maupin, who remains one of the greatest old-time dancers in America. Framed between Thomas’ recovery from cancer and his acceptance of a nationally-recognized award, this piece presents a deeply personal look at a folk icon. As well as being a portrait of an artist, Let Your Feet Do The Talkin’ asks the question, “What drives us to perform?” and examines art's ability to form and to strengthen relationships and to lift us above our circumstances.
In addition to the 30 minute film Let Your Feet Do the Talkin', the DVD also has the following bonus features:
• Deleted Scenes
• Live Performances
• Dance Workshop
• To Hear Your Banjo Play (1947 Documentary narrated by Pete Seeger with performances by Woody Guthrie and Sonny Terry) - Jennifer (Stewart Copeland's 2008 Short Film). The total run time for the DVD is 109 minutes.
